#No2Niki

Some of you have heard about the new motion filed by the NDP politician Niki Ashton, Motion 510, which calls for making abortion more accessible. The motion states:

That, in the opinion of the House: (a) a women’s right to choose abortion is a fundamental question of equality and human rights, both in Canada and around the world

Niki Ashton filed this motion the very day of the National March for Life, when 23,000 Canadians stood for life in front of Parliament. Compared to the handful of pro-choicers, the pro-life presence was strong, young, and loud! With pro-life chants filling the summery Ottawa air, we drowned out the prochoice chanters easily. Now let’s storm social media with the same amount of pro-life noise!

So, what can we do?

1. If you have Twitter, join the Tweet-a-thon. Follow your MP and send them a tweet, using the hashtag #No2Niki.

2. You can also make a video of yourself thanking Niki Ashton for re-opening the abortion debate but asking your MP to vote against it. Then post it to YouTube, email it to your MP, and tweet it! (if you don’t have Twitter, you can send it to youth@campaignlifecoalition.comĀ and they will tweet it for you)
